Flushing

2019

September 29 - October 4th... Over the course of these days the Operator will start at the west side of town continuing in an easterly direction through the Borough and then finish up on the north end.

Part of the maintenance of the water system is to flush out the distribution system to keep clear water running from your faucets. Naturally occurring minerals build up in the pipes and must be flushed out. The TBMA crew performs this task annually. This can cause a temporary disruption of service or discolored water. Therefore, the task is performed during the early morning hours to minimize any inconvenience to our customers.

The system is flushed by the TBMA crew by opening fire hydrants that are left open until the water runs clear. This task also helps us provide information to the local fire company on the flow available from the fire hydrants.
